Security awareness training

Turn your team into your best defence

Nearly every successful attack involves someone clicking, approving or replying to something they shouldn’t. Not because they’re careless, but because the scam was good and they were busy. Short, regular training and realistic phishing simulations build the habit of pausing, and reporting, before acting.

How it works

Little and often, not once a year

  • 01

    Baseline test

A realistic simulated phish shows where your team is today, with no names shamed.

  • 02

    Short lessons

A few minutes at a time on phishing, passwords, payments and social engineering, done at their desks.

  • 03

    Regular simulations

Varied, realistic tests that mirror current scams. A click leads to a short lesson, not a telling-off.

  • 04

    Reporting

Progress reports for directors, and evidence for Cyber Essentials, DSPT and insurers.

What we cover

Topics that match how attacks really happen

Generic training about hackers in hoodies doesn’t change behaviour. We focus on the situations your staff actually face.

  • Spotting phishing emails, texts and fake login pages
  • Invoice fraud and “urgent request from the director” scams
  • MFA fatigue: why you never approve a sign-in you didn’t start
  • Passwords, passphrases and using the password manager
  • Safe file sharing and working on public Wi-Fi
  • What to do, and who to call, when something feels wrong

Culture, not blame

The goal is more reports, not fewer mistakes admitted

A team that’s afraid of getting it wrong hides mistakes, and hidden mistakes are what turn into incidents. We make reporting easy and praise it, so when someone does click, you hear about it in minutes, not weeks.

FAQ

Security training questions

Can’t see your question? Call 01843 482 279 or email hello@squareoneit.co.uk. You’ll get a straight answer from an engineer.

How long does the training take?

Lessons are short, typically a few minutes each, spread through the year. That fits around busy roles and is far more effective than a single long session.

Will staff feel tricked by simulated phishing?

We introduce the programme openly and keep it positive. Clicking leads to a short, helpful lesson, and reports are celebrated. Individual results are handled sensitively.

Is training included in your plans?

Security awareness training and simulated phishing campaigns are included in our Complete plan (£35 per device per month, excluding VAT), and can be added to other plans.

Does it help with Cyber Essentials or insurance?

Training isn’t one of the five Cyber Essentials controls, but frameworks such as the DSPT and ISO 27001 expect it, and insurers increasingly ask about it. Our reports give you the evidence.
