Network cabling

Structured cabling, done tidily and done once

Cabling is the part of your network you’ll never see again once the ceiling tiles go back, so it has to be right. We design, install, test and label Cat6, Cat6a and fibre runs for offices, shops, warehouses and fit-outs across Kent, leaving a comms cabinet you’d be happy to show a visitor.

Why it matters

Everything else in your network sits on top of it

Fast Wi-Fi, clear VoIP calls, reliable cameras and a responsive server all depend on the cables underneath them. Poor terminations, cheap cable, runs that are too long or cables crushed under furniture cause intermittent faults that are maddening to track down.

We plan the layout around where people sit today and where the business is heading, choose the right cable for each job, and install to recognised standards with proper containment. Every outlet is tested before we leave.

  • Survey and design around your floor plan and future growth
  • Neat containment: trunking, basket and ceiling routes, not cable ties on pipes
  • Every run tested and every port labelled to match the drawings
  • Comms cabinets built or rebuilt with patch panels, switches and power

How we work

A cabling project, start to finish

  1. 1

    Survey

We walk the site, check routes, containment and the comms cabinet, and talk through your plans.

  2. 2

    Design & quote

Drawings showing outlets and routes, with a fixed quote and a schedule that suits you.

  3. 3

    Install

Tidy, safe work, including evenings and weekends when needed, and the site left clean every day.

  4. 4

    Test & label

Every run tested and labelled to match the drawings.

  5. 5

    Hand over

Test results, drawings and a patched, working network. Documented and yours.

Typical projects

Cabling jobs we take on

  • Office moves & fit-outs

Planned with your landlord and fit-out team so the network is ready on moving day.

  • Cabinet clean-ups

The “spaghetti cabinet” rebuilt: re-patched, labelled and made sense of.

  • Warehouses & units

Long runs, fibre links and outdoor-rated cable for yards and loading bays.

  • Wi-Fi & CCTV points

Powered cabling for access points and cameras, placed exactly where the survey says.

FAQ

Network cabling questions

Can’t see your question? Call 01843 482 279 or email hello@squareoneit.co.uk. You’ll get a straight answer from an engineer.

Can you work evenings or weekends?

Yes. Much of our cabling work is scheduled out of hours so it doesn’t disrupt your team. We agree the timetable before we start.

Do we still need cabling if we use Wi-Fi?

Yes. Access points themselves need cabling, and fixed devices such as desktops, printers, phones and cameras are more reliable on a cable. A good network uses both.

Can you tidy up our existing cabinet?

Yes. We can re-patch, label, replace damaged leads and document an existing cabinet, often in a single evening, and test the runs that feed it.

Will you work with our building contractor?

Yes. On fit-outs we coordinate with contractors and electricians so containment goes in at the right time and outlets end up in the right places.

Planning a move, a fit-out or a clean-up?

Send us a floor plan or tell us what you’re planning, and we’ll arrange a survey and a fixed quote.
